This report is one of a series of dictionaries produced by PeaceTech Lab that focus on social media and hate speech in the context of a particular country. In this frame Elbiro Media Foundation, and in local partnership with Development Transformation, which aims to analyze the dynamics of online hate speech and its potential links with offline violence.
This research is part of the bigger goal of addressing online hate speech and its impact on communities in conflict areas and being a source of individuals and organizations involved in monitoring and combating hate speech to make their work more effective.
Elbiro team contributed in this dictionary through the publication of a questionnaire in which many users of social networking sites participated in Libya, where our team compiled and translated the most important vocabulary and terminology, and explained the context in which they are used.
